Hairy and handsome real-life couple Jason Blair @jjbear83 and Giovanni Aurilia @inked5 are hot! Yes, it was hot as hell in our RUFSKIN STUDIO the day that these were taken, but they are super sexy hot in real life too. So when they were visiting us at the Rufhouse recently we asked them to try on a few of our current and upcoming styles, from stretch denim to our new Calkini. Needless to say, the results were nothing short of intense heat and handsomeness galore, causing quite a stir on our social media as well.
What is this RUFHOUSE MAGAZINE all about anyway? RUFHOUSE was born out the necessity to showcase the current photos that we took on our adventurous location shoots, photographic tests with friends or images deriving from our actual RUFHOUSE STUDIO. Cataloging these images in one place like RUFHOUSE gives us the chance to share our work with an e-zine concept for our customers and followers to see. We wrote an editorial letter of sorts at the beginning of issue 12 that sums up the entire contents of our you will need a tissue issue, but below one will find some of our favorite screen-grabs as well as brief info about each of the photo essays. To view the whole magazine of issue number 12 CLICK AQUI!
Up first is Josh aka @jaye_slay. We met Josh via a friend of ours in San Diego and wanted to see him in various looks and styles. As you can see he is sort of a chameleon as his looks changes from one style to another. We especially like the sailor look that came together using vintage RUFSKIN pieces. He also looks he knows how to ride a motorcycle:)
Next up come the men. Real-life couple Jason Blair @jjbear83 and Giovanni Aurilia @inked5 gave us a dose of masculinity and romance on the rocks at Black Lava Butte near Joshua Tree, CA. In addition to being super nice, one can get the feeling that these two men really love each other. We particularly love how the images of the khaki short shorts or (Romeo) on these two.
Here is LOGAN. RUFSKIN muse and another chameleon. This time Logan is sporting bleach blond hair and wearing uber 90’s styling.
Then voila! The story of all stories from our guest photographer Baldovino Barani al la #factoryfanzine. using the handsome Wilfred Wong @thatwilfred in an all American boy story using our current swimwear group. God Bless ‘merica!
Matt Bechstein @mcbex444 a friend of ours from Palm Springs, worked it out BIG time for us in the RUFHOUSE STUDIO one Saturday afternoon. What a sexy dude! Besides the fact it was like a million degrees outside, we had to hose him down throughout the shoot which proved to be perfect for our some of our ( uh hum) transparent pieces from our collection. Enjoy!
Lastly, we find Mr. LOGAN @lswieckitay with pink af hair this time!!! That shade of pink with the contrast of African clothing and tie-dye has Logan twisting and turning into all sorts of shapes. The BOXOL red and navy swimsuit is one of our favorite images.! And you?
Look books are always fun to look back on as it generally gives one an idea of what we were actually tripping on at the time. In this case, it was military-inspired as well as our continuous obsession with the country of Brazil that influenced our designs that year. Photographed at both the Rufskin Studios in San Diego and on the beaches of Brazil, the collection showcased colors ways of drab olives to brightly colored neon hues. One thing is for sure, each one of these men was the perfect fit for what we were trying to deliver that time of year, once again focusing on style with no particular season in mind, just acting healthy and happy in their Rufskin pieces.

This is one of those photoshoots that never seems to get old. When we got the chance to photograph the sexy Argentinian DIONISIO HIERDSHFIELD, @we jumped at the chance. We photographed him for our RUFHOUSE MAGAZINE issue 7 wearing our new swimwear capsule RUFROD that was in collaboration with Brazilian hottie, RODINEY SANTIAGO @rodineysantiago and our new sportswear collection, one that featured skin-tight rubber, something that DIO fit incredibly. If you haven’t seen any of our RUFHOUSE MAGAZINES there is more to DIO if you click AQUI! Adios.
We just launched 2 new styles to our CALKINI category under SUMMER SWIM; CROWN and BOXOL. We are excited to introduce a new construction concept with a pending patent. You can expect a full range of products from swim to underwear and sportswear as we introduce this new concept with swimwear, we called it CALKINI. Designed with a separate double-waist, this brief was made to step into and style how you want. Whether it’s the thick band on top of the neon band over the orange, “you are the controller”. A generous pouch and back panels made from shiny stretch-nylon frame your body with ease. Now comes the CROWN and BOXOL each with unique colorways and design aesthetics. First up the CROWN. Summer is in full effect here in So-Cal so we took our patented CALKINI™ design concept and reimagined it with a new color-way for swim. “Pink AF” like bubble-gum, with so much shine you’ll feel like royalty. Two separate metallic silver waistbands make an “X” at the hips. The crown is in your hands when it comes to how you want them to lay on your body. Built with a generous pouch and back seam to frame your cheeks like no other. Silver ram head rivet embellishes the waist.
And then there is our BOXOL.
Pool party or playa, it’s your time to shine in this swimsuit continuing the new patented design concept CALKINI™: two separate double-waistbands come together as one, made from metallic stretch-nylon and built with RUFSKIN’s custom engraved metal hook and ring at the hip. “Step into it as you like, wear it as you want” is the motto as you control how the waistbands are styled on your body. Front pouch and back seam frames your body at its best, lined in front.

This was a memorable shoot. Why? Because it was the first shoot where we met our muse, Mr. Logan Alan Swiecki-Taylor. @lswieckitay. For those that have been following him since his debut at RUFSKIN, these images were epic for STUDIO RUFSKIN and paved the way for future photoshoots in the desert around the Palm Springs area. Later, the RUFHOUSE STUDIOS will be born and the rest is history. In addition to his incredible body and shine bright like a diamond brilliant smile, LOGAN ALAN SWIECKI-TAYLOR’S hair stole the show! Can you spot our FARAH FAWCETT iconic poster look-alike photo? From jewelry, plush toys and poolside fun, LOGAN really captured the true essence of the RUFSKIN man. Which look is your favorite?
One expects to find flashy and bright colorways when we think about swimwear; especially around the summer time. Maybe these photos below will change our minds on wearing neutral shades like tan, khaki, gold, and bronze when thinking swim. Mother earth wasn’t wrong with these shades and these boys, @lswieckitay, and @davidterzian may just prove it. Take a gander at the REVO style below. It has a little higher rise and inserted pockets that make for a pretty vintage inspired military suit. SHOP RUFSKIN MUCHOCALIFORNIA SWIMWEAR AQUI.
Photographed near the CADIZ Dunes in the Mojave Desert.
Last month we launched our first part of RUFHOUSE MAGAZINE 11 volume 2 from our incredible trip to the Yucatan Penninsula but we had so many photos that we decided to create two separate issues! Issue 11.2 is now out and is chock full of never seen before photos. Mexico was the perfect background for this season’s MUCHOCALIFORNIA swim group. It. Is. Friday. In lieu of digital images found deep in the bowels of external hard drives, today we went through the press pages that we store in plastic sleeves at HQ. There really isn’t a theme to our post today like previous ones like sexy mustaches, tan lines or bubble butts; this time we just closed our eyes and placed a finger on a series of images that we liked with RUFSKIN pieces outfitted somewhere on the models.
