The swim(19) collection is Rufskin’s biggest reveal of the year, it doesn’t come easy but nothing great ever does. We go through trails and failures but always come out bringing you new ideas, styles and some not so basic swimwear. As I’m sure you’ve been following us on our Instagram story and some BTS shoots of Mexico, here are some rough drafts and edits we do along the way in our flagship store in North Park, San Diego. Jonathan Jesinsky is the epitome of the RUF MAN! We photographed Jonathan back in 2005 after his stint in Iraq with the army. From his tattoos to his incredible smile, Jonathan exuded simple ease and charm when we photographed him in our leather, denim, and underwear from that particular era of RUFSKIN.

All printed suits are made of our exclusive custom microfiber that allows us to avoid adding the extra lining. Even some of our solid pieces are single layers because there is nothing wrong in flaunting what is yours! Each print was intentionally built and placed for a reason. The mixture of elements like photography, graphics, animal prints, and denim is at the center of this collection. As Tony Duquette said, “More is More!” So no holding back this year by adding gold and cheetah prints juxtaposed with “bijoux” motifs alongside vintage, colorful Hawaiian florals.
The new “CALKINI” is our most minimal suit one can proudly flaunt, and when it is time to tone it down, our new “str8” cut or trunks will give you enough coverage to hang out with the “in-laws!” After all, life is too short to restrain yourself. You are who you are and there is nothing wrong with showing off. On top of all this, we took a trip to Yucatan, Mexico to photograph the entire swim line. There was no fuss, no all-inclusive resort, just pure natural beauty because this is what it is all about. Time to shine! Disfrutar!

We dug DEEEP into one of our external hard drives, you know the ones that were large and heavy? Well, blonds definitely have more fun while wearing RUFSKIN! Aubrey, our model from a number of years ago had the most amazingly beautiful legs. In addition, he had an incredibly charming personality. Aubrey wore our leather gear the best. Below are a few samples of leather, underwear and our infamous Tambo terry cloth pants from the time.
